Spring Ephemeral Plant Walk
April 19 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm
After a long winter, some of the most eager plants to bloom each year are our spring ephemerals. As their name suggests,
these plants are very short lived (sort of…) with sprouting, blooming, and seed dispersal all occurring within a few short weeks while sunlight bathes the forest floor as the trees begin to wake up. Middendorf Park in Vestal, NY hosts a stunning variety of our native ephemerals including Trillium, Trout Lilies, and Ramp, among some more uncommon species. Local naturalist Cam Winzinger will lead this trip. Check out their Science Communication Instagram @camsmagicshoolbus.

This trip is open to current club members. Registration is required.
