SUMMARY:Youth Night
DESCRIPTION:The night will be in two parts. Come at 6:00pm for presentations targeting K – 6th grade youth. Attendees will learn about butterflies\, amphibians\, rehabbed animals\, and how to draw birds.  \nAt 7:15pm\, our regular meeting features several speakers presenting kid-friendly “shorts” including Costa Rican Resplendent Quetzals\, Bears\, and Local Baby Birds.  \nMark you calendar and plan to bring along a young friend! Please get the word out to interested youth\, your kids\, and your grandkids. \nRSVP’s for Youth Participants should be made to Victor Lamoureux at 607-770-6897 or at vlamoureux@stny.rr.com. Space is limited – sign your student up before we open to the general public.\nAll members are invited to come watch and to get an early jump on the Plant Sale selection!

Join a club naturalist for a Saturday morning\, and learn to identify birds by their song as well as by sight.  \nJon Weeks will lead this trip to Upper Lisle. We will meet at Upper Lisle Park\, which is off Route 26\, Upper Lisle\, NY. Park and meet along the road by the marsh. \nBring your binoculars and field guide\, dress for the weather and possible muddy conditions. Classes start at 8 AM and will last about 3 hours. Attend one\, two or all three sessions. DESCRIPTION:Waterman Education Center will be hosting hikes at the IBM Glen.  Join Naturalists Club member Dan Dunn to learn how to identify the birds of spring by their songs\, field markings\, and habitat of the deep woods and forest edge. This is the best time to see birds in the Glen before the trees get their leaves. Dan has many years of leading field trips involving bird identification and nature photography. Bring your binoculars and bird identification books. \nTo register for this walk\, call 607-625-2221. Children are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult. $3.00/members\, $4.00/non-members\, $1.00 for children.  \nPlease wear sturdy shoes and bring a hiking stick as the hikes are hilly. Dogs are not allowed.  \nDirections to the IBM Glen: Drive north on Robinson Hill Rd. from Country Club Rd. in Endwell for 1.2 miles.
