DUE TO WEATHER - THIS FIELD TRIP HAS BEEN CANCELLED! This is a unique high elevation forest which features boreal forest-like habitat not seen outside the Adirondacks or summits of the Catskills. It is one of the few places that SWAINSON'S THRUSH (a boreal forest bird) actually nests in Central NY. This place you can get ALL brown thrushes in the east at once... Field Trip – Broome County Waterfowl

Waterfowl should be heading back through our area soon. Let’s get together and see what we can find. We will visit several local hotspots for waterfowl based on reported birds. Meet at Oakdale Mall, pole #6 at the back of Sears at 8:00am. Volunteer drivers may be necessary. Please consider volunteering if you are able.

Field Trip – Skyline Drive State Forest

Join us for a birding trip into the woods of Skyline Drive State Forest. This is a fairly dense forest area. The forest provides excellent habitat for a wide variety of birds. In the past we have seen Black and White Warblers, Black-throated Blue Warblers and Scarlet Tanager. Meet at Oakdale Mall, pole #6 at the back of Sears at 8:00am. Volunteer drivers may be necessary. Please consider volunteering if you are able.
