BU Nature Preserve Hemlock Grove Saturday, February 1 -1:00pm Winter can be a dreary time, so plan to get out for a field trip! Hemlock groves are still green and are full of animal life. CANCELLED – Field Trip – Boland Pond & Local Rivers

As a precaution, to assist in protecting our membership and our community, we are cancelling this field trip. Since most waterfowl is viewed at a distance and the sharing of spotting scopes is typically required, we feel this precaution is in everyone's best interest.  Join us for a joint field trip to visit Boland Pond and our local rivers. Join us for a field trip to Upper Lisle Park! We will meet at the location near the Clay Banks Trail off of Upper Lisle Road at North end of the Whitney Point Reservoir. Face masks will not be required for this trip but if you are not vaccinated against COVID-19 or have a compromised immune system, please wear a mask in accordance with your comfort level.

Join us for a field trip! We’ll be exploring the City of Binghamton’s first educational nature trail at the 16-acre Sandy Beach Park at 545 Conklin Ave. on Binghamton’s South Side. For this trip, we will visit whatever locations are “hottest” for ducks leading up to the trip. It should be a good day to see a variety of waterfowl. Urban Geology Walk with Karen Goodman

Spring Ephemeral Plant Walk

After a long winter, some of the most eager plants to bloom each year are our spring ephemerals. As their name suggests, these plants are very short lived (sort of...) with sprouting, blooming, and seed dispersal all occurring within a few short weeks while sunlight bathes the forest floor as the trees begin to wake up.
