Birdwatching Basics Class

Designed for the novice birdwatcher or someone just beginning, this course will provide basic tools to begin a life-long enjoyment of birds. The classroom portion will cover basic bird biology, binoculars, field guides, identification tips, and local families of birds. The course includes two field trips to introduce basic field methods to find, observe, and ID birds.
Course will be led by Victor S. Lamoureux and other Naturalist Club members. Victor is a local naturalist and wildlife photographer and professor of biology at SUNY-Broome. He has been watching birds in Broome County since 1988.
Refreshments will be provided.
Field Trips:
Saturday, March 21 – Winter Birds & Waterfowl
Saturday, April 18 – Early Spring Birds
Cost: $25
All participants will receive a free one year Naturalists’ Club of Broome County membership. (A $15 value!)
