Field Trip – Dragonfly Hike
After checking the edge of the lake, Colleen Wolpert will lead a moderate hike to a lesser known part of the park where a pond hosts a variety of dragonflies and damselflies to be photographed for identification later. Meet at Greenwood Park at 11am. Please protect yourself from sun and ticks and have water with you for this walk.

We will alternate driving and walking along the dead-end level dirt road looking for butterflies. There will be a temptation to walk in tall grass, so long pants tucked into socks is recommended. Binoculars and cameras are also recommended for both butterflies and birds. Be prepared to be asked about eye color of fritillaries in this area. Join us for a field trip to Upper Lisle Park! We will meet at the location near the Clay Banks Trail off of Upper Lisle Road at North end of the Whitney Point Reservoir. Join us for a field trip! We’ll be exploring the City of Binghamton’s first educational nature trail at the 16-acre Sandy Beach Park at 545 Conklin Ave. on Binghamton’s South Side. For this trip, we will visit whatever locations are “hottest” for ducks leading up to the trip. It should be a good day to see a variety of waterfowl.
