Field Trip – Butterfly Walk at Long Pond Grasslands

We will alternate driving and walking along the dead-end level dirt road looking for butterflies. There will be a temptation to walk in tall grass, so long pants tucked into socks is recommended. Binoculars and cameras are also recommended for both butterflies and birds. Be prepared to be asked about eye color of fritillaries in this area.
Meet at Lowe’s on Upper Front St. in Binghamton at 9:30am to carpool or meet at the Greene Public Library at 10am. Minimal vehicles preferred to protect butterflies.
Please protect yourself from sun and ticks and have water with you for this walk.
